Dental Veneers in Jackson, MS

Dental veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells custom-made to cover the front of your teeth. They’re ideal for hiding chips, stains, gaps, or misshapen teeth—and the results look and feel incredibly natural.

In addition to standard porcelain veneers, Dr. Umphlett has specialized training in providing no-prep veneers. These require little to no drilling or tooth shaving to preserve your natural tooth structure. The no-prep veneers procedure is quicker and less invasive, with reduced sensitivity, all while enhancing the smile’s appearance with minimal discomfort.

Whether you want a subtle upgrade or a total smile makeover, porcelain veneers and no-prep veneers are a durable, long-term solution that can truly change how you feel about your smile.

Preparing Your Dental Veneers

The veneers process begins with a consultation to assess your goals and ensure you’re a good candidate for standard veneers or no-prep veneers.

During the first appointment, a small amount of enamel is gently removed from the tooth surface to prepare for veneer placement. If choosing no-prep veneers, tooth shaving won’t be needed. Digital scans are taken and sent to a dental lab to create custom veneers. Temporary veneers may be placed in the meantime.

Finalizing Your Dental Veneers

In your next visit, we will check the fit and color of your final veneers before bonding them to your teeth with a strong adhesive, revealing a natural-looking, long-lasting smile transformation.

We’ll give you full post-care instructions and tips to help you care for your veneers. Our team will also review the condition and function of your veneers in follow-up appointments.

FAQ

  • What’s the difference between porcelain and composite veneers?

Porcelain veneers are durable, stain-resistant, and offer a natural appearance, lasting over a decade. Composite veneers are more affordable, applied in one visit, and easier to repair, but typically have a shorter lifespan and stain more easily.

  • How long do veneers last?

Veneers are long-lasting but not technically permanent. They usually last 10 to 15 years before needing replacement.

  • Are veneers reversible?

Traditional dental veneers are generally not reversible because a small amount of enamel is removed during preparation. However, Dr. Umphlett does offer no-prep veneers, which are reversible. With this option, no enamel is removed. So, if the no-prep veneer is removed, the original tooth structure remains intact.
